Group Mentor Coaching

For ACC and PCC Coaches

Next PCC Group Mentor Coaching Class Starts on August 15, 2024!

The next PCC Group Mentor Coaching class starts on Thursday, August 15th, and will run until November 21st, 2024. The mentor coaching must take place over a period of 3 months, hence this timeframe.

Classes will begin at 10:00 am CST and will run until 11:30 am CST (11:00 am - 12:30 pm EST) on the following days: 8/15, 8/29, 9/12, 9/26, 10/24, and 11/21. It is required that these sessions are attended live, so an additional group session has been added as a bonus, offering a total of 9 hours of group mentor coaching.

To be eligible to register, you must have:

  • Completed at least 60 hours of coach specific training and intend to apply for or renew your ACC credential
  • Completed at least 125 hours of coach specific training and intend to apply for your PCC credential

Initial Credentialing (per the ICF)

Credentialing candidates on the following paths are required to participate in Mentor Coaching prior to submitting their application:

ACC Portfolio
PCC Level 1 / ACSTH
PCC Portfolio

ACC Renewal (per the ICF)

Coaches applying to renew their ACC Credential are required to complete an additional 10 hours of Mentor Coaching above those hours required for their initial credential.

How It Works

Participate in a minimum of five (1.5 hr. ea.) live group sessions over a period of three months (one session has been added as a bonus). Expect to coach and be coached, so come prepared with relevant coaching topics for each session. Receive personal guidance to develop your coaching skills and expand your toolset while earning up to 9 hours toward the 10 hours of required mentor coaching.

Schedule three hours of one-to-one mentorship and receive personalized feedback aligned to the relevant (ACC or PCC) ICF Core Competency Rubric. This will enhance your preparedness for the ICF Performance Evaluation.

*Mentees will be required to submit a recorded coaching session and its transcript (verbatim) to be discussed during at least two of the three one-to-one mentoring sessions.

After completing live coaching demonstrations, engaging in coaching practice and skill building exercises, receiving written and verbal feedback, and debriefing recorded coaching sessions, you will earn your Certificate of Completion, reflecting up to 12 hours of Mentor Coaching.

This often includes challenging yourself to achieve a more meaningful coaching practice by uncovering your blind spots and amplifying your strengths. My delivery may also include a little bit of humor and a dash of whimsy.

If that sounds appealing, this program is for you.

What's Unique About This Program?

Mentor programs are designed to entertain, provoke, and enlighten all while fulfilling criteria for applying for an ICF credential at the ACC or PCC level and meeting recertification criteria for the ACC level.

Your Mentor:

Tasha McGhie, PCC, CYRC, has worked in the nonprofit sector for over 15 years--first in the arts, then social services, and lastly education. She serves as a mentor coach and faculty for Youth Coaching Institute, a psychology-centered and evidence-based Level 1 ICF-accredited program, and a coach observer and program evaluator for both Level 1/Level 2 ICF-accredited programs. Tasha is known for applying whimsy to her (serious) work and loves a delicious metaphor. She is currently inspired to transform learning and workplace environments into creative ecosystems and cares deeply about the future, for both youth and their communities.
